Rollersetting

So I'm no where near the time (Sept or Dec.) I want to be for performing my length check and roller setting, but one of my friends, Jennifer, did. Using a overhead dryer, it took her an hour to dry, but if you don't want to use heat, it will obviously take longer. The following process took her two hours:

  1. Wash and condition hair as usual.
  2. Detangle using wide tooth comb
  3. Apply all leave-ins
  4. Section the middle of your hair as if you were going to wear a mohawk, making sure the width is no longer than the roller width. (Choose size of rollers depending on the length of your hair. Short hair = smaller roller/ Longer hair = larger roller)
  5. Part hair no thicker than inch, detangle hair with larger cob, then rat tail comb.
  6. Place magnetic roller at tip of the hair, with roller on top rolling up toward the scalp. (Always roll the hair in the direction you want to wear it.)
  7. Secure roller with a metal clip.
  8. Repeat process until the entire head is rolled.
  9. Place net over rollers.
  10. Sit under dryer (or air dry) until completely dry.
  11. Remove rollers and wrap the hair.

Coming soon: After a recent convo with a friend who's been natural somewhat longer than me, I'll break down hair types and how I figured out what mines was after a few months of transitioning.
